Sharing your passion with other people is important. Maybe you’re playing an instrument. Maybe your passion is about photo shooting. So you might consider sharing your music, your photos, etc. on the social network. It’s important to remember that sharing is not about getting as many likes as you can. If it’s still nice to get likes the important thing is the bond your passion will or will not create with others.
It is true that it feels good when people tell you they like what you do. It is also true that it’s quiet nice for your self-esteem to be recognized. But there is something more important in sharing your passion. Some of your friends on Facebook or LinkedIn or other social networks, are really interested in your passion. Sharing your passion makes them happy, sad, curious, etc. What you share is a gift to them.
Do no care about what people could think in general. The good thing with social networks is that people can choose. They are free to click on a link and to read an article, to watch a video, etc. They can pass on if they are not interested. Don’t be selfish. Share. Do care about what people express individually and in a very subjective way.
So what makes a gift really a gift ? There should be something unique. Something that is different from the information you will get every day from social networks. Something special: Like an oasis in the information desert.
So my friend go ahead and share your passion because there are people out there. They are looking for an oasis. So maybe they will rest a moment. They can’t do if you don’t show them that you exist.
